Rob Brodie hails from Liverpool, and unlike the song he’s short haired, quick and very good at his job. Fully trained and qualified as a Diesel Fitter in Liverpool, Rob has a wealth of technical experience first working for the army in places as far-flung as Germany, Belize in South America and the Falkland Islands working on equipment as diverse as engines, bulldozers, graders, motorbikes, outboard motors, tanks, APCs and of course forklifts.

Says Rob, “Army machines may be painted green but they’re the same machinery, and it taught me I could fix just about anything.” 18 months ago, Rob started working as a Field Service Technician for Forklift Finder Services at Enoggera on Brisbane’s north side, looking after an extensive forklift rental fleet from battery electric units to LPG and diesel 4WD container handlers, reach stackers and telescopic handlers.

“We always try and go the extra mile for our customers. It’s a family business here, and they seem to care more. It’s not just forklifts; we work on container handlers and telescopic handlers. There’s a lot of variety. One day I may be at a construction site, a container yard, the next a warehouse. I like meeting the customers, and with field service, you’re the one that makes the decision, and just get the job done. I’ve been doing this a long time, and I still enjoy it..”
