Kiwi forklift jobs abound
Forklift drivers are in demand in New Zealand as the country looks to ease its restrictions next week. Newshub Nation quotes one driver saying that getting a job was as simple as sending a text.
“(It) took me half an hour basically: I just sent a text message to human resources here, and half an hour later I got a job offer,” the driver noted.
The driving jobs are part of the booming agricultural sector, with farmers classed as essential workers and food production hitting top gear.
Potato Pro reports that food production businesses are booming, driven by Kiwis stocking up. The report notes a shortage of workers as coronavirus fears keep staff away.
Chris Claridge, CEO of Potatoes New Zealand, is urging New Zealanders to keep working: “There will be work there, we do need workers and it will be an ongoing demand.”
